SATURDAY 19TH JUNE, 2010
SHOWROOM, HORNSBY RSL High St, Hornsby
A great night was had by all who attended the annual family dinner/concert at the Hornsby RSL.
The performances were most enjoyable from both the ensembles and the soloists. It was a good opportunity for the families to hear some solo performances from amongstour talented players.
As well as good music the dinner was delicious and the staff at the RSL could not have been more helpful.
The raffle helped to raise some funds.
This event has become firmly established in our calendar now and we all look forward to the same and more next year.
Thank you to the organisers, performers and conductors for a really fun night.
Our first concert for 2010 was an outstanding success. The venue was perfect for both performers and the audience. The quality of the performances from all ensembles was of the highest standard.
As always, thank you to all committee members involved in all aspects of the organising and presentation of the concert. All performers who participated played beautifully, our guest musicians contributed so much and we were all so privileged to hear the wonderful voice of Simone Easthope.
What a wonderful weekend was had by all!
Last weekend’s Weekend Music Workshop Camp was an outstanding success. We had: members arriving from Friday night through to Sunday; fish and chips and takeaway at the beach; tutorial groups happening all over the place with our talented band of tutors; children swinging on giant swings, flying on flying foxes and rock climbing; committee members and parents organising and looking after children; mountains of food being consumed and most importantly beautiful music being played.
A huge thank you must go to Scott Hipwell, Jane Noller and the camp organising committee for all their hard work; our conductors David Griffin, Tim Ferrier and Kate Palethorpe for their continued input into the musical development of all our members; the fantastic management and staff at the beautiful Collaroy Centre and, of course, our talented members who behaved so well and continue to be a credit to us all.
