Emily Palethorpe

Emily studied cello at the Canberra School of Music with David Pereira, completing her Bachelor of Music with distinction in performance. She has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music studying with Susan Blake. In 2008  she completed a Masters in Teaching at Sydney University.

Emily has established a busy teaching studio and regularly performs with and is a founding member of the string quartet, Accent Strings. She is also a cello teacher at Loreto Normanhurst, Newington and Knox.

Emily has played and toured with the Australian Youth Orchestra, the Sydney Chamber Orchestra and the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra and the Balmain Baroque Group. She has performed on electric cello with Maske, String Diva and String Sirens.

Emily also works as a freelance cellist and has performed and recorded with The Church, Human Nature, Harry Connick Junior,  Il Divo , Thirsty Merc, Veronicas , Tina Arena , David Hobson, Sumi Jo, Kylie Minogue, Ronan Keating, Susan Boyle and many others.
