Our Aims

• to promote opportunities for young musicians in the northern and northwestern regions of Sydney to develop excellence in all aspects of instrumental performance.
• to promote the appreciation of music in the community by public and charitable performances.
• to foster the personal development of young musicians by providing opportunities for them to interact with other musicians.

The Orchestras

The NSYO consists of four orchestral groups:

• The String Orchestra: introduces string players to the skill of ensemble playing
• The String Sinfonia: a continuing orchestra for string players
• Wind Ensemble: ensemble training orchestra for wind and brass players
• Symphony Orchestra: both string and wind/brass players come together in this orchestra which requires previous ensemble experience and a high level of technical ability.
