From July 4th-15th, 2018, NSYO will take a 10-day European tour to Vienna, Salzburg & Prague and will be participating in the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival. The festival attracts over 2000 young musicians from all over the world to compete in different sections and promises to be a great experience for our NSYO musicians.
There are 32 players attending the tour, drawn from Symphony, Winds and Sinfonia, who have been rehearsing as a group throughout the last term in preparation for their multiple performances in the different European cities.
To help with fundraising for the tour, some of our players enjoyed a few days of busking during the school holidays in Chatswood Mall. The players attracted crowds with many taking photos or stopping to watch and donate. The group managed to raise several hundred dollars in just 2 sessions which will go towards the tour in managing our costs. Thank you to James for arranging these sessions and to all the players involved with a wonderful performing experience for everyone.
