All new applicants and returning players are invited to audition for the NSYO for membership in 2019 (continuing wind players are exempt).
For the audition, players are requested to prepare a short unaccompanied piece of their own choice and a scale of their own choice. You may be asked to play a short sight-reading excerpt.

We are especially keen to welcome any low brass players and double bass players.
In 2019 we are offering a scholarship to experienced saxophone players to take up the tenor or baritone saxophone.
We are also offering a scholarship and free hire of a double bass to experienced cello players to take up the double bass.
During 2019, the orchestra will be preparing music for a European Tour in 2020.
